Eager for adventure but fearful as a sheltered young wornan of that era would be Eva recounts her experiences in Hazelton with her minister/ veterinarian hushand, Dan. Explaining why he spends more time doctoring than preaching, he says to Eva: I can reach more people by curing their horses than trying to save their souls."
