Notă biografică
Graham Wade, writer and musician, a graduate of Jesus College, Cambridge and Fellow of the Trinity College of Music, London. was formerly Head of Strings and professor of classical guitar at the City of Leeds College of Music, Internationally acknowledged as one of the foremost authorities on the twentieth century history of the classical guitar, he has published some forty books, among them critically acclaimed biographical studies of Andres Segovia, Joaquin Rodrigo, Gina Bachauer, and Julian Bream, as well as works on musical history, several volumes of poetry, and a historical novel, The Fibonacci Confessions, winner of the St John Thomas literary prize in 2011. In 2002 he was awarded the Schotts Gold Medal for his contribution to Rodrigo studies. He has written for many newspapers and periodicals including The Times, The independent, and the Guardian. He is an Advisory Editor to both the British and American New Grove Dictionary of Music and the General Editor of a very successful series of paperbacks on music for Mel Bay Publications in the USA. He has lectured on the history of the classical guitar in leading conservatoires and universities in the UK, Austria, Germany, Norway, Spain, the USA, Canada, New Zealand, Poland, Hungary, Eire, Sweden, Holland, Greece, etc, and appeared on a number of guitar juries for international competitions in the USA, Greece, Germany, Spain, Eire, and the UK.
