A creature of the night named Demetrius struggles with his identity, how to live a moral life, and what happens after death. He is a man who struggles with self-doubt with every decision that he makes. Being forced to live for eternity with pain, turmoil, and distress has led him to the conclusion that his only chance for happiness is to create another creature that he can relate to. After Demetrius turns Ravik into a creature of the night, Ravik's life is full of emotional and physical pain. Ravik must figure out what it means to be a creature of the night without any help. Feeling betrayed by Demetrius, Ravik embarks on a journey throughout the land of Korin to gain his justice against the man who raised him, taught him, protected him, and attempted to be a father to him.
