Principles of success are universal at individual, family, institutional, corporate, county, national or global levels. Evidently, the public sector in Kenya has of late undertaken to benchmark with the private sector in many of its operations. This recipe has been the birth of the rapid results initiative of the government. The author stresses the need for governing the county governments in a similar manner like one would do for a private enterprise without compromising on social responsibilities that would be too exorbitant if left at the mercy of approaching all sectors from a profit point of view.
