The threat of nuclear war in the 1950's drove the United States government on a path to build facilities with the sole purpose of producing an atomic bomb. The unintended consequence was the destruction of families in their path. This story, set in the rural South, depicts the impact of this act of protectionism on a small town southern family that had to leave their home to make way for the Savannah River Nuclear Plant.
