The Girl on the Run

Autor MR John Higgins Griffiths Junior
en Limba Engleză Paperback
The girl on the run is about a young woman, Gina Ingrid, who steals some top-secret documents from her husband and runs away from home. Unknown to her, several individuals and groups are interested in the top-secret documents too. They murder her and steal the documents from her. Her husband, General Daniel Jackson, is shocked to discover than an FBI agent, James Miller, killed her when he launches investigations into her murder. As a senior U.S. air force soldier, the General decides to deal with the FBI agent personally, since he believes he stole the top-secret documents when he murdered the woman. It turns out that the FBI agent did not steal the documents; he was an unfortunate victim of blackmail, and some criminals had forced him to kill the woman. Some Serbian secret agents who were operating clandestinely in Washington, D.C. had stolen the documents and disappeared. Nonetheless, the top-secret documents are quite important to the U.S. government, since they touch on the private life of the American president. The president is desperate to recover them too, and he is willing to do everything possible to ensure that they do not fall in the wrong hands or get out of the country. However, America is large and tracking down some secret agents who had stolen some classified information could be tricky and costly. Feeling that the missing documents could endanger the country's security and ruin his political career, the president launches some desperate moves that expose some of his dark secrets. He also exposes his weaknesses to his enemies, and they will not stop until they have destroyed him.
