The Globe

Abigail "Newt" Newton is a twenty-eight-year-old scientist with her own research laboratory who moves methodically through life. After developing artificial hemoglobin in her lab, she decides to take a much-needed vacation to her family's secluded cabin in Washington. But a discovery on the beach turns her world upside down.

When she stumbles upon a simple Japanese fishing float along the shore, she quickly discovers that imprisoned inside the pale-green glass globe are a tiny man and his unconscious baby. Terrified at first, she devises a way to communicate with him, and becomes concerned with his plight. Vowing to help him in any way she can, she assembles a misfit team of helpers who include computer geeks, wounded warriors, and even a drag queen.

As romance blossoms between Abigail and the man, they soon discover the real secret behind his captivity.
