In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. Scholars in the first half of the 1900's came to the determination that Esra wrote the book of Genesis in the monarchic period, at the court of Solomon, about 1000 years before Crist. And the Clerical work about 500 years later, but newer conclusions are that it was before or during the Babylonian exile of the about 600 years BC, and the Clerical final edition was made at the end of the Exilic period or soon after1. Genesis, the word means the beginning of something, origin, the first and best-known book of the Bible is Genesis. It tells the stories of the universal creation, of Adam and Eve, their children Cain and Abel. The story of Noah's ark, the Tower of Babel, the patriarch Abraham, and his sons, it explains how humanity and the world came to be. As well as about how humanity, and notably the descendants of Abraham, correlate to the rest of the world.
