Recenzii
Bloch's pioneering work on the application of wave mechanics to the theory of metals deserved more space than it was given...This book will be a useful first port of call for anyone wishing to familiarize themselves with the development of quantum mechanics in the interwar period.
engaging ... a useful first port of call for anyone wishing to familiarize themselves with the development of quantum mechanics in the interwar period
This is a valuable account of how researchers modified quantum theory to reflect increasingly precise data, more exact terminology, and a widening range of physical systems throughout the early to the mid-20th century. This text will undoubtedly serve as an important reference for academic libraries, especially at colleges and universities that offer history of science courses.
