Beverley's History and Present State of Virginia, published originally in London in 1705, is considered by many to be the most important and accurate history of early life in the Virginia colony. This edition is reprinted from the author's second revised edition ( London, 1722) with an introduction by Charles Campbell, author of the Colonial History of Virginia, published in 1855.
