In the course of history, the political-religious power elaborated a legislation in which the center of public life was the man and relegated women to the domestic space, who, in many aspects, were silenced. In the past, written law placed the female sex in a state of inferiority with respect to the male; that is to say, they lacked equality before justice. Women were the most exposed to physical and psychological violence. Taking these aspects into account, writing about the women of Israel in the ancient world was to bring them out of the silence in which they were submerged for much of history. Given this statement, the following questions arose: Why this silence? What were the stories of Israelite women in ancient times? Were there laws that defended women? Did women occupy the same place in Israel as in the rest of Western cultures?
