When Clara's beloved grandmother, Nana dies, Clara's father decides to move the family from Nuremberg to Boston. On the eve of her first Christmas without her beloved Nana, Clara makes a wish and finds herself in a fantastic world created by her eccentric uncle Drosselmeyer, a world of mechanical dolls, a pesky gnome and an army of vicious mice. A handsome Nutcracker becomes her guide and her rescuer as she makes her way through the beautiful world of dancing dolls, in her quest to find her Nana.
