The Human Tribe is a primer of "being." It is a summing up of the author's thoughts on America and the world today. It is a conjecture on the origin and the rationale of being. And it reminds us that we are the soil of the Earth, one with the Earth and one with our brethren, a tribe apart in the universe. We may be products of design, of pure chance, or of something in between: we do not know. Nevertheless, we are the custodians of our planet and the instruments of our destiny. On the Good Earth, we may attain levels of being beyond anything we can imagine today. Without the Earth, we die. And heaven or hell notwithstanding, we die alone. Our legacy is the planet and the energy we leave behind. The Good Earth, our descendants and our gods are our heirs. They, and only they, will remember us.
