The Hummer and the Hummed

Autor O. P. Sr. Mary Sawicki
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 10 mai 2011
"In this brief synthesis of the spiritual journey, the reader is profoundly, yet simply reminded of the never-ceasing invitation to deepen one's union with God. This invitation emanates from the One who is Love itself. Our author, Sr. Mary of the Sacred Heart Sawicki, invites us to reflect with her on a lovely hummingbird, a recent visitor to her monastery. Sr. Sawicki found herself touched by this tiny bird whose fluttering evidenced a profound tranquility. At the same time she became aware of the inward movement of the human spirit so often generating an unusual tranquility. This beautiful hummingbird gracing the monastery's feeders underlined for the Dominican Nuns the all-pervading nearness of God and God's longing for our response to such closeness."
-Eleanor Dooley, S.S.J., D.U. Paris (Sorbonne)

"In a refreshing manner, Sister Mary of the Sacred Heart speaks of contemplative prayer using the image of the hummingbird. In this reflection she shares with us not only her own beautiful reflections, but also the gentle attentive manner in which God becomes intimately present in the depth of a human person."
-Excerpt from the forward by Fr. Bruno Cadoré, O.P.
Master of the Order

"This book creates a beautiful and simple way to understand one's relationship with God and the path of prayer. However, it is not just a sweet story. It includes insights from St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Catherine of Siena and Sacred Scripture. Enjoy this wonderful reflection.
