Notă biografică

Simon McKeown is Keeper of Rare Books at Marlborough College where he teaches English and History of Art. He was principal organizer of the Eighth International Conference of the Society for Emblem Studies at Winchester College in 2008. His books include Emblematic Paintings from Sweden's Age of Greatness (2006); and the edited volumes The Emblem in Scandinavia and the Baltic (2006, with Mara Wade); and Reading and Writing the Swedish Renaissance (2009). He has published widely on Tudor and Stuart poetry, emblems, and the culture of the Swedish Baltic Empire, and has served on the research committee of the Swedish State Trophy Collection.
