MICHAEL M. GUNTER is Professor of Political Science at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee and a former Senior Fulbright Lecturer in International Relations in Turkey. His previous publications include The Kurds and the Future of Turkey, The Kurds of Iraq, and The Kurds in Turkey.
