At age 36, Patrick Tyre was a successful general contractor who felt like something was missing in his life. In 1993, he decided to take a chance, do something totally different, and ride a horse across the country. On his ride from Delaware to Texas, he was inspired to write beautiful poetry about the people he met and places he visited. Today at age 54, he is still haunted by the desire to complete his ride from Texas to California and to again feel that inspiration. At age 39, Kelly Howard operates a large horse farm. She loves teaching lessons to children and working with her horses, but she also feels as if something is missing. When Patrick comes to Kelly's farm to purchase a horse, two diverse worlds collide, and an amazing friendship begins. But he's been agonizing for months over a secret past he is afraid to tell her about. When he finally reveals it all to her, will Patrick be able to let go of that last blade of grass holding him to that past and help both of them find what has been missing in their lives?
