The world as they know it ends, and no one was prepared for it. Not only can it happen, but when. The life they knew ripped away by an EMP in the blink of an eye. At first they are not sure of what happened, then in a haze, what to do next. The only thing they know is they need each other to survive. Through the winter and into the spring, Jim, who has no idea of how to write, does as instructed by his friend Bill, hoping others can understand what he has written without the luxury of computer assistance and know what happened here. Maybe others can learn from their mistakes and the good they have done. This is a different world from what they had recently known, split between the 18th century and the 21st. No power, no phones, no cars, no police, lack of food and water. Who do you trust? Where do you go? What will you do when you get there? They lost so many to hunger, disease, and then to gangs. They have become numb to the sight of the dead and dismembered. As the days move on and blend together they create a different order to society to accomplish their goals, yet they still want to know, who caused this and what will their new world look like because there is no going back.
