This is the true story of my life starting in a small town of 838 people and covering almost 70 years. A large variety of entertaining experiences involving many different areas of human interaction are covered. Highlights from the 66 cars that were owned provide car enthusiasts with some exciting moments. School years can be trying times for many people, but the stories covering these years make it obvious that in this case they were fun years. There is a chapter about mistakes in life that includes some stories that may change the way you think about those downturns in life. The stories from small town experiences are a look into small town life that many people have not experienced. Throughout the book, there is also a general theme of how doing the right thing and looking for opportunities to help others contributes to a life well lived.

Notă biografică

Gordon Delfs has written a book that is enjoyable for a wide range of readers. In the book, there are quite a few car stories, but many general human-interest stories as well. There is also a general theme of how doing the right thing and looking for opportunities to help others contributes to a life well lived.
Gordon spent the first 50 years of his life living in various small towns in Kansas. A background of jobs in an unusually wide range of fields helped to build a deep appreciation for all people and a unique perspective of understanding human nature. With experiences from baling hay, to making cheese, to installing farm tires, to driving a gasoline tanker, to accounting, and ending his working career as CFO of a large grocery company, he has an unlimited source of stories to draw from.
If you were in 15 car accidents and were never injured, would you say it was lucky or unlucky? Just one of many interesting situations in this book to ponder. My name is Gordon Delfs and this is the true story of my life starting in a small town of 838 people and covering almost 70 years. It is told as if reminiscing with an old friend and includes my Woodstock experience, mischief, cars, mystery, excitement, high speed driving, and much more.
