Whether called 'Tammuz', 'Dumuzi' or 'Adonis', this mythological figure is invariably a mortal turned fertility god, beloved of the goddess of love and related to the growth of vegetation and the turning of the seasons. Where did this myth originate and how did it become so wide-spread among the cultures of the ancient world? This work of fiction is written from the point of view of the mortal and follows his experiences. Addressing the question of destiny versus free will, this book is also an investigation of the interaction the world of man and the world of the gods of the ancients. How can a boy become a god?
