The Little Small Red Hen is the story of an industrious little hen who is stalked and captured by a wicked old wolf - once upon a time. Originally published in 1911, the story and illustrations lend themselves perfectly to the purposes of the adult colorist with an appreciation for the charm and beauty of a bygone era.

The book contains 24 full page illustrations, with the back of each page left blank, so that the colorist doesn't have to worry about bleed-thru if using markers or ink.

The goal of this adaptation is to preserve this delightful story while introducing it to a whole new audience. Turning the illustrations into black and white works for the adult colorist creates an opportunity for 'grown-up children' to interact with this story in a whole new way.

Isla is a wellness consultant and an educator. She has a passion for holistic solutions to health issues, combined with a healthy skepticism that comes from a lifetime of growing up as a doctor's daughter in our traditional medical system. She started her company, Applied Wellness Technologies, in the spring of 2009. Her goal is to help others weed through the multitude of advertised products available - to separate the wheat from the chaff, so to speak! - and to inform them of the science that underlies various products and modalities for healthy living. In her research, she has discovered the value of adult coloring as a means of encouraging relaxation, stress relief, and creativity. As an advanced colorist (i.e. a little old lady who never outgrew the love of coloring she had as a child) she is delighted to add the publication of coloring books to her 'repertoire' for the benefit of anyone looking for stress relief in our high-stress society.
