When the summer birds leave this beach on Long Island's South Shore, new birds arrive for the winter and this book provides a fun way to help children (and their parents) learn a bit about these beautiful winter birds, their unique beauty and talents. The lead character in the story is the Snowy Owl who organizes a Talent Show of Wings so the nine other birds featured can show off their skills. All the images in the book where taken by the author, an award winning wildlife photographer, on a specific beach on Long Island. Using real images makes the birds come alive and will help inspire a sense of amazement of the nature we take for granted on our very own beaches.
