How would you respond if you received an unmarked letter hinting at the location of the legendary City of Gold? Would you dismiss the note as a hoax? Would you investigate further? The answer is easy for Tiele, a teenage magical who enlists the help of her three best friends as she embarks on a quest to find the lost city in Costa Rica. The trek to Costa Rica begins with the frenzied chaos of unlucky port travel, and the adventure quickly builds as Tiele finds herself thrust into the midst of a magical foray. With no time to collect herself, Tiele races to acquire pieces of a long-lost treasure map before her competition beats her to it- and seals off the City of Gold for good. Making the task more difficult are rogue bandits, natural disasters, an eccentric wizard, and native tribes eager to protect the secret of their ancient treasure.
