A political satire that explores what the world would be like if the rich and poor really did live in separate realities. Aran, the son of a wealthy lawyer in The City, finds himself on the run from the law, and decides to take his chances on the other side. He encounters a world still in the dark ages, completely cut off from all the mod cons he has been brought up with. In the struggle to re-unite the two worlds, he and his companions must face their own fears and make it back through The Maze - and The Guardian.
