Jay Evans was raised knowing little of his mother's First Nations heritage. Now he wants answers! Life was happily normal until a mind-reading Shaman and his shape-shifting Spirit Bear make an out-of-body appearance. The old man has a mission for Jay: to restore the family honour. He tells of lies and crooked dealings which resulted in Jay's mother's family being cast out of their village. Jay believes it is all a bizarre dream until he finds an ancient talisman in his pocket and shocking family secrets start to unravel. Despite his awareness that Chee-en, his mother's remote village in northern British Columbia, is way beyond his comfort zone, he is intrigued by the Shaman's challenge. He doesn't expect his quest for answers to include a bully with a grudge, or a band of seriously bad guys stealing historic artifacts from the First Nations Elders.
