The Neutron is a subatomic particle (symbol n ) which has about the same mass as a proton but without an electric charge. The Neutron has a spin value of 1/2 and is present in all atomic nuclei except those of hydrogen. Neutrons and protons, each with a mass of approximately one atomic mass unit, constitute the nucleus of an atom and are collectively referred to as nucleons.
