"The New Edition: The Truth" presents a well-researched look at the lives of Muslim Americans, before and after the tragedy of 9/11. Based on numerous surveys, author Wazhma Khalili has come to realize Muslim-Americans do feel greatly discriminated against since that day-especially throughout the 2008 presidential election. On Election Day, many Muslim Americans felt hostility from their neighbors when they attempted to vote in person. Despite this hostility, though, voting continued, as many Muslim Americans believe that Barack Obama will be the first president to address the issue of race and work toward national equality.
