Loupe is not having a great time in the afterlife - his best friend is a mangy alcoholic ghost dog who keeps invoicing him for therapy services, and it turns out that you don't get to sleep when you're dead - you get to work a 9-5 grind in a pointless job. But things are about to change, and an attempt to move on by exploring the past sets Loupe on a path that will inevitably end badly for everyone. Expect to see blood, guts, dogs with moustaches, vile bureaucrats, time travel, the secret life of a cat named Mister Boots, weird triplets in a launderette and much more in this grim yet uplifting horror adventure comedy yarn. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll laugh some more - then you'll wince and feel bad for laughing. But you'll get over it. Will you like it? Well, if you like stories about people who are both drunk and dead, then it should be right up your back passage, as it were. Will it answer your questions about life? Almost certainly not, unless you want to know more about goldfish poo and what cats get up to when you're not looking. Will it answer your questions about death? Again, almost certainly not, since I made it up and it in no way reflects a realistic or experienced view of the afterlife. Can I eat it? No, it is a book.
