Recenzii
In this volume, David Colclough has produced an outstanding work of scholarship. If the first publication of the new project is indicative, The Oxford Edition of the Sermons Of John Donne will stand as the authoritative edition for many generations to come.
The Oxford Donne will be the definitive text for decades. Containing an introductory essay by a leading scholar, meticulous textual scholarship, separate commentary on each sermon, and detailed end-notes, Volume Three is a formidable resource. From what's on offer here, the series promises to be a once-in-a-century piece of Donne scholarship.
bold and brilliant in design, impeccably annotated and dizzyingly full ... This edition epitomizes what scholarship at its best can do, in presenting the texts beautifully and, in its notes, providing an invariably lucid account of the contexts in which the sermons make sense.
[An] intensively researched volume
