Notă biografică
Suzanne Oboler is Professor of Latin American and Latina/o Studies at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Between 2002 -2012 she served as founding editor of the academic journal, Latino Studies. She is the author of Ethnic Labels, Latino Lives: Identity and the Politics of (Re)Presentation in the United States (1995) and various articles and book chapters. She has edited Latinos and Citizenship: The Dilemma of Belonging (2006) and Behind Bars: Latino/as and Prison in the United States (2009). In 2005, she co-edited, with Anani Dzidzienyo, the anthology, Neither Enemies nor Friends: Latinos, Blacks, Afro-Latinos and was co-editor in chief of The Oxford Encyclopedia of Latinos and Latinas in the United States, 4 vols.Deena J. González is Professor at the Department of Chicana/o Studies and Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs at Loyola Marymount University. The first Chicana to receive a Ph.D. from Berkeley's history department, she is the author of Refusing the Favor: The Spanish-Mexican Women of Santa Fe, 1820-1880 (OUP 1999).
