Recenzii
"Freeman is a professional photographer of the first magnitude, and the photos evidence his mastery of people, landscape, nature, wildlife, street and city life photography. His writing is concise and clear. All in all, this is a very worthwhile book - not just if you are going on the trip of a lifetime, but really any trip."--BetterinBlackandWhite.com "It is pretty safe to say that this man has been everywhere, and is the perfect candidate for authoring a book like The Photographer's Eye Field Guide, labeled the 'essential handbook for traveling with your digital SLR camera.' Measuring a little over 4.5 x 6 inches by slightly more that 1/2 inch thick, the book (like all books in the Field Guide series) is designed to be taken with you - to fit in a pocket or to be tossed in your bag for handy reference in the field. With an opening chapter dedicated to preparation, and later chapters on subjects like, well, subjects and on themes to bring some unity to your travel picture, the book is well designed and well laid out. The chapters are tabbed internally on the outer edge with corresponding tabs on the back for quick searches. Mr. Freeman is a professional photographer of the first magnitude, and the photos evidence his mastery of people, landscape, nature, wildlife, street and city life photography. His writing is concise and clear. It covers topics like how to travel with your camera, how to photograph different settings and subjects you might find while traveling (beach, birds, markets, etc.), and the various lighting scenarios you might run into while traveling. He even includes some things to consider when photographing in different cultures. The book includes lots of beautiful examples of travel photographs. A good read for those who love to travel and photograph!"--MomandCamera.com "In three decades as a photographer for Smithsonian Magazine, Michael Freeman has been asked to shoot some of the world's most picturesque locales. But they are also some of the world's most photographed, which presents a challenge. When photographers have had nearly 100 years to perfect the shot of, say, the Taj Mahal, how do you improve on shots so classic they have become cliche? This should be a matter of concern to any summer traveler who would like to come home with more than a picture of the family standing in front of famous landmarks. Mr. Freeman offers five tips on avoiding the photographic cliche."--NYTimes.com "Would make fantastic Christmas gifts for the photographer in your life"--review in Kimberlygauthier.com "They're genuine paperbacks that I can thumb through and dog-ear, not download fodder for my Kindle or iPad. And they're compact enough to fit into the pocket of my Levi's or the outside compartment of my camera bag.In an age that seems overrun with gear freaks and technophiles, these little Field Guides are indispensable new pieces of equipment in charmingly old-fashioned packages. Stick one in the pocket of your Levi's."--Rangefinder "Chosen as one of the 'Best Art Instruction' books for 2011 by Library Journal"--Library Journal Best Books of 2011 Listing
