en Limba Engleză Paperback – 31 mai 2016
Over 500,000 copies in print! "Godliness has value for all things." -1 Timothy 4:8 (NIV) How can you develop godly character? Bestselling author Jerry Bridges says that godliness is more than a character trait: "It is a foundational spiritual quality that makes the entire Christian life dynamic, effective, and pleasing to God." Growing in godliness is a twofold process. It involves an ever-deepening devotion to God and developing character that is steadily transformed into His likeness. In The Practice of Godliness, the sequel to the popular book The Pursuit of Holiness, readers will learn how laying an inward foundation of God-centeredness will permit them to build an outward structure of godliness. Character formation will never be the same! Discussion guide included.

Textul de pe ultima copertă

Scripture tells us that God has given us "everything we need for life and godliness." But what makes a Christian godly? In The Practice of Godliness, Jerry Bridges examines what it means to grow in Christian character and helps us establish the foundation upon which that character is built. Bridges opens our eyes to see how character formation affects the way we relate to God, to ourselves, and to others.
In order to live godly lives, we need an inward foundation of God-centeredness. This book will help you establish that foundation and then build an outward structure of godlikeness.

Notă biografică

Jerry is a proud graduate of LSU School of Horticulture and has been a practicing horticulturist for most of forty years. He began his practice in Baton Rouge, but when that city experienced 48 percent unemployment, he moved back to his ancestral home of Columbia, SC. After many years there, he followed work to Beaufort, SC. An avid gamer, his writing is based around the magic system found in one of his favorite Role-Playing Games. Jerry reads constantly, accompanied by his dog beside him and his cat on his lap. He is a proud husband to Vickie for 37 years and father of four incredible children. A committed Christian, he is an active member of his church choir.
