Originally published in 1954, this book was based on various periods of fieldwork undertaken in the region of the Horn of Africa between 1941 and 1946. Written by prominent archaeologist John Desmond Clark (1916–2002), the text presents a detailed analysis of the relationship between physical geography and stone age culture within the area.
