The Protagonist

Autor Dennis L. Siluk Dr H. C.
en Limba Engleză Paperback
One of the main objects of Dr. Siluk's new work, the novelette: "The Protagonist," is his non-dramatic form and non-traditional narration (seemingly in a poetic prose style); this being a central idea in this Kafkaesque effort (or surreal work); a labor that says it does not have to be like everyone else's (a near five year undertaking). The Protagonist and his counterpart Empsey appear to be one of the same, where one seems to try endlessly to appeal to the other on behalf of better judgment, but is unheeded by the other, perhaps a tug-of-war of repellent superiority. It would appear the two entities which seem separated by one another have each their own sense of self. The Protagonist attempts to stand against the system, whereas Empsey, attempts to obtain a goal by pursuit, within the system's boundaries. The Protagonist is helplessly drawn into frustrations and alienation. A closer look is perhaps inferring, something can be more real than what it gives the impression, or something that appears to be nothing, is really something, because you made it so, or someone made it so. The narrator intercedes. The novelette has lyrical inspiration, thematic thought and scheme and a disheartening end.Dr. Dennis L. Siluk is a poet since he was twelve years old, a writer, Psychologist, Ordained Minister, Decorated Veteran from the Vietnam War, Doctor in Arts and Education. In addition, he received twice Honorary Doctorate, and was appointed Poet Laureate in Peru nine times. One of his books, "The Galilean," took Honorable Mention at the 2016 Paris Book Festival, and received an award from the Congress of Peru, for his cultural writings. He is originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, and lives with his wife Rosa, in Lima, Peru and High up in the Andes, in Huancayo, also, in Minnesota.
