Notă biografică

Elena Korka is an archaeologist at the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Tourism, where she currently serves as Director General of Antiquities and Culture Heritage. She has taken part in several excavations, and has spoken at numerous national and international seminars. She received her PhD from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2009 with a thesis titled "The Reunification of the Parthenon Sculptures within the Framework of the New International Practice of Returning Cultural Goods". Dr Korka is Vice-President of the Scientific Committee for Archaeological Heritage Management (ICAHM) of ICOMOS for the South-East Mediterranean, and a member of ICOM, ICOMOS, and EAC. She has received various awards for her work, and is an honorary member of the German Archaeological Institute at Athens.
