It is well known and documented that King David was a man after God's own heart. But his life was an emotional roller coaster of ups and downs. He was a man of contrast; passionate love for God while guilty of some of the most serious sins. He waged wars in the name of the Lord and was a great military conqueror but could never conquer himself. The Psalms of David contains some of the most beautiful and emotional poetry ever written by a man who, even during his trials, always strived to love and trust the God he served.
