*5 stars* "...examines human impulsivity from both psychological and neurobiological perspectives… [and] observes how the factors related to impulsivity can lead to specific behaviors, such as aggressive driving, intimate partner violence, and gambling.... The book includes technical language and references, but the technical terms are explained, and… the material can be understood by a layperson without any difficulty.... The first section relates impulsivity and sexual behaviors,… the second section considers addictive behaviors,… the next section explores the intersections of impulsivity and certain clinical conditions,…[and] the final section examines behaviors in daily life,… with reflections on impulsivity in personality. This book covers the topic well and includes sufficient references." --©Doody’s Review Service, 2024, Gerald A Steckmeister, PhD (Boston University)
