The Psychology of Dyslexia: A Handbook for Teachers Second Edition looks at are the description and definition of dyslexia and the assessment of dyslexia, as well as the history of the concept and current research findings. The book also includes reviews of both the neuro-psychology and the social aspects of dyslexia. In addition, aspects of cognitive psychology - in particular memory, phonological development and models of reading and spelling - and their relationship with dyslexia are covered.

New to this edition is a CD-ROM containing over 20 case studies which focus on, among other things, high- and low-ability dyslexics, severe dyslexia, simple spelling problems with high reading ability, ADHD and other neurodiversities and adults with dyslexia. Notă biografică

Dr Michael Thomson is Principal of East Court, an internationally acclaimed specialist school for Dyslexia, and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Applied Child Psychology at the University of Kent. He is also an executive editor of Dyslexia, the journal of the British Dyslexia Association, an Associate of the British Psychological Society, a Chartered Educational Psychologist and a Fellow of the International Academy for Research into Learning Difficulties.
