Leo Rossi is a loner employed by a mega-corporation in a futuristic city where the information age has changed the way people interact with each other. His solitude is just one symptom of this faceless society, the global network making it easy to communicate but difficult to talk. In his desperation for fulfilment Leo turns to XTC Robotics, a company who manufacture sexual gratification automatons. It is during his first stumbling encounter with such a robot where he meets Joy, a soulless but masterfully crafted pleasure machine who only serves to feed Leo's compulsive nature.
