The Randolph Family Saga

Autor Patricia A Leslie
en Paperback – 15 iul 2015
What happens after the happy-ever-after conclusion to a fairytale romance? Naturally, the right people marry and have children. But those children grow up! In this second volume of the Family Saga, John and Janet Randolph are now the loving but unconventional parents of three beautiful children: independent Roselyn, an 'old maid' at twenty-two … shy nineteen-year-old Robert … rebellious Rowena, "almost sixteen". From the start, the family's lives have been uniquely influenced by their special bond with the Elfin Realm of Summerland and its Queen, Daniù. With such an upbringing, the younger generation cannot avoid stumbling into mortal danger as well as romantic entanglements. Though still passionately in love, and having settled down to a contented family life at Roxburgh Castle, Janet and John find their tranquil lives thrown into upheaval by political events … it is 1813 … Bonaparte still strives for world dominance. Only Daniù knows the magical secret behind his destructive ambition. Having no power to affect life-or-death events in the mortal world, she sends her dearest mortal friend, John - ever the reluctant hero - to try ending the deadly blight of war. With John suddenly far away, Janet soon finds herself facing a variety of challenges … once again she must look into her heart to find the kind of courage that she first drew upon many years ago. With her special magical blend of fantasy, romance, comedy, drama, jeopardy and heroism, Ms. Leslie here skilfully brews another memorable comic/drama coming-of-age tale. Like the Randolphs themselves, the story steps quite comfortably back and forth through the Veil between their home in Regency Scotland, and a variety of otherworldly Realms.

Notă biografică

Patricia A. Leslie, for no particular reason except a fascination with the many varieties of human culture, attended University of California, Berkeley as a re-entry student. Despite graduating with honours in cultural anthropology, she is pretty sure she is one of Phi Beta Kappa's least-serious-minded members, ever. Along the way, she has also acquired a university certificate in museum studies, and an MS in metaphysics. When not creating novels and stories, she pursues a variety of creative interests, from writing an occasional parody song, to sewing a costume.
