Notă biografică
Catrienne McGuire worked as a clinician for many years, within mental health. She wrote her first book 'Always a Hero' in 2010, when after visiting a friend in Sellyoak Military hospital wing, she saw the dreadful injuries inflicted on some of the soldiers that had been flown in directly from Afghanistan. Catrienne went on to write books that described how PTSD affects many and changes lives but also about the strength of the women and families that are close to them. Her most recent book 'The Red Suitcase' is inspired by her own grandmother, a formidable lady in her own right. 'The Red Suitcase' is a book of courage, politics and violence set to the backdrop of the madness and grief of the Troubles in Northern Ireland. Catrienne also likes to take a moment away from "the heavy stuff" to write children's books. In these, we read about 'Butters and Big Mac School Detectives' who come up against characters like Cat Ching, leader of a villainous cat gang. Catrienne McGuire has always loved writing and hopes that her readers get as much joy from her work as she does.
