Notă biografică

Paolo Petrocelli was born in Rome in 1984. He received his violin degree from the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia and graduated in musicology from the Universita Sapienza where, under the guidance of Philip Gossett, he specialized in the study of European music in the 20th century. He was admitted to masters programs at London's City University and Royal Holloway University. In 2007 he received a research grant from the William Walton Trust. In 2008 the Italian magazine of musicology "Nuova Rivista Musicale Italiana" published his essay on Walton's Violin Concerto. In 2009 he worked with Vatican Radio to produce a series of programmes on 20th century British music and William Walton. In addition to his activities as a musician and musicologist he also works as a journalist and as a manager for musicians and musical acts. He writes for Italian and European music and culture magazines and collaborates in the organization of international music and film festivals such as the English Music Festival, Tuscan Sun Festival, Rome Chamber Music Festival, Rome Film Festival and Roma Independent Film Festival. He has also worked with the artistic direction and library departments of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. He is a network member of the Working Youth Group of the European Music Council. In 2008, along with the electric-acoustic ensemble Zeitlet, he won the Independent Music Awards in the Film Music section. Paolo Petrocelli is the media and marketing manager of the Orchestra Symphonica d'Italia and is the violinist of the indie-folk band, Vinegar Socks.
