Notă biografică

Christopher H. Sterling is senior professor of media and public affairs and of public policy at George Washington University (Washington DC). He has published extensively (more than 20 books and dozens of articles) on radio and other topics. Among his most recent works is the three-volume ENCYCLOPEDIA OF RADIO (New York: Fitzroy Dearborn/Routledge, 2005) that won the American Library Association "RUSA" award last year.
In addition to various monographs and articles, Sterling also wrote the "Radio History," entry for Encyclopedia Britannica. Chicago: Encyclopedia Britannica, 2004. This substantial (roughly 15,000 words) essay ranging from 19th century wireless to 21st century electronic media.

Telecommunications Update. 1985-90 (Bi-weekly); 1991-92 (Monthly). Editor of this eight-page newsletter for USIA, sent to 6,000 overseas addresses.
Journal Of Broadcasting. 1955-date (Quarterly). Editor (1972 to1976); Book Review Editor (1970 to1972); editorial consultant (1976 to 1985); member of publication committee (1975 to 1989); Chair of publications committee (1994 to 2000).
