Under the surface there lies another world, called the Underdark. Its denizens are live creature with capricious overlords worshiping demons. Among the most cruel of these races are the drow, cast out of the sun-lit realms for their worship of the demon-goddess Lolth. But they were once a noble and just race, and with the birth of a drow named Quarion under ominous portents they may have a chance to reclaim their heritage.
