After nearly a millennium of peace, the Synija, the Defender of Life, is once again needed. Elayna Arsand of the Keepers has escaped the Dread Lord's attack on Amulin City with two of the Elements of Power, and the Spirit Sword. She meets Devyn Idarraga of Hertishrin, and together they must journey to the Temple of the Synija to reunite the Spirit Sword with the Shield and become the Arja and Nysir. Only by sharing the burden of Synija together can they rid Amulin Kingdom of the Dread Lord's plague.
