The Royal Dukes is the third and final book in the series. This divergent reflection examines the exploits of Boo the teenager as he reaches for manhood in a rapidly changing social and political environment. But unbeknownst to Boo and his doo-wop buddies in their singing group, the Royal Dukes, the political "doo-whoppers" were already plotting Ellenwood's extinction. The Old Eastwick residential displacement plot, nay, ploy, deliberately eviscerated and enervated Ellenwood. The power and money of the freethinking doo-whoppers mulishly and maliciously exterminated my hometown. Like Corrine Sykes, they executed Ellenwood, even after a deathbed confession and acknowledgment by the City Council. Initially a majority of the Council opposed the project, but money, power, and politics won the day.
