Originally published in 1929, this book contains an English translation of the Berlin-era memoirs of Russian diplomat Peter Alexandrovich Saburov (1835–1918). The memoirs relate to the period 1879–84, covering Saburov's central involvement in the negotiations surrounding The League of the Three Emperors. This diplomatic alignment between Austria-Hungary, Germany, and Russia was of fundamental importance to the international life of Europe during the late nineteenth century.
