This original, one-act musical is based on a short story by the popular American author, Washington Irving. "The Scarecrow" is a social satire about a Widow who humiliates the pompous mayor of the town and his daughter by creating a scarecrow that becomes engaged to Susannah, the mayor's daughter. In short it's funny, whimsical, and fun.
