This book is a pastor and amateur gardener's look at raising roses and changing lives. The goal of this book is two-fold. It will challenge Christians to become more of whom God would want them to be while becoming a gardener of the wonderful world of roses. It explores what it means to use the God-given gifts, talents and abilities that each of us possess, for the glory of God and for the sake of those with whom we come into contact, while comparing our walk with God to the natural world of raising roses. The entire process of rose gardening is detailed in a way as to make successful rose gardening achievable for everyone. Such details as which rose to purchase, where to plant and how to plant the rose; care, feeding and maintenance of the rose are discussed. We will also take a glimpse into the dormant season of the rose, a fearful time not knowing if your rose will survive the harshness of the winter. And as each chapter is a comparison of a different step in rose gardening to our Christian walk, you will also be challenged to reflect upon the dormant seasons within your life, the long winters when life crashes down upon you. And then there is spring and summer, glorious summer. Explore with me this marvelous journey of rose gardening which I like to think of as therapy for the soul, and allow God to challenge you to become more and more the person God designed you to be.
