John Kelly is an artist and writer who has travelled extensively observing and documenting the environment especially along the polar regions, with the help of journal entries and poetry as well as through drawings and photographs. John Kelly's scientific understanding and forensic approach to landscape brings a new appreciation to the processes that link ice, water and land. His residences and fellowships include the Royal Navy, British Antarctic Survey, Svalbard Research Station (NERC), Newfoundland and Labrador Museum, Aland Archipeligo, Finland Tyndall Centre for Climate Change, Anchorage Museum, Alaska, Barrow Arctic Science Consortium, Alaska, Scott Polar Research Institute, Cambridge, Reykjavik University, Iceland, and the London School of Theology. He has had numerous exhibiitons including those in the Cheltenham Art Gallery and the Natural History Museum, London.
